The actress was featured in two episodes of the Showtime show Weeds starring Mary Louise Parker. The actress is known for portraying Judy Kramer on Fox's 2005 Point Pleasant series and Marcy in the Dawson's Creek series. As a character on the Guiding Light soap show, she played Marina Cooper. This role brought her an award nomination by Soap Opera Digest in 2003 for Outstanding Newcomer. Dollar was Cindy Thomas in the ABC series Women's Murder Club from 2007-2008. Dollar was a part of in the 2011 NBC series pilot Happy Valley but it was not picked-up.
